Lake Powell

A couple weeks ago we went to Lake Powell on a house boat with my family and our friends the Eberts and the Inmans. We had a blast! There was just one minor incident that ended in Nate rupturing his ear drum in a dramatic yet very graceful fall of a tube. Poor little guy. But other than that it was fabulous trip.`We ate tons of yummy food, played LOTS of games, swam, laid on the sun, and had no contact with the outside world for a week. Here's some pictures for your viewing pleasure, just ignore the unkempt appearance, a week without makeup and a real shower does not do good things for me.

Dad, Devan, Nate, and Howard

Nate and I with Brinley, she is such a cutie

The ladies doing what we love, laying on floaties in the sun

Lake Powell is gorgeous, and very windy, but that's besides the point

Thanks for stopping by!!

I wanna go to Disneywand

For thanksgiving Nate and I decided to brave the traffic and go down to L.A. and see his friend Leo and his wife Lise. We had a blast. We had a huge Tongan thanksgiving with all of Leo's family, it wasn't thanskgiving dinner that I am used to but it was delicious!! They all made us feel so welcome and made sure that we did not leave hungry at all. Before we ate we sang Love at home in English and then in Tongan, and by we I mean they. Then after dinner the whole family went around in a circle and said what they are thankful for. It was so neat to hear what everyone had to say and to hear them talk about how important family really is. I really enjoyed seeing how different families and cultures celebrate the holiday.

The next day we went to Disneyland. I absoutely love it there!! We thought that maybe it wouldn't be too crowded because everyone would be out shopping, but we were wrong. The lines weren't terrible, but as the day went on it just got hard to move without running into someone. When we got off one of the roller costers Nate looked at me with a confused look on his face and slowly pulled a LONG BLACK hair out of my mouth. It was the most disgusting thing that has ever happened to me. It was obviously not mine becuase of the slight color variation. I just keep telling myself that it was Lise's, even though her hair is short and curly and this one was very long and straight, it just helps me feel better about the whole situation.

I'm such a child and get really excited when I see the castle, especially when it is all lit up for Christmas. The lights all over the park are so pretty. I love it!!

Waiting in line to watch "Honey I Shrunk the Audience." Nate was immitating Dr. Zelinski in the pictures on the wall

Us with Leo, Lise and Goofy.
Us on Tower of Terror. Its a little blurry because its a picture of a picture. I'm too cheap to buy the real ones.

On Saturday we just hung out and watched the BYU game. That night we wanted to do something so we decided to go to Santa Monica pier and then to see the Walk of Fame. Right when we got on the freeway Leo's car blew a tire while in the fast lane in lots and lots of traffic and we got stuck on the side of the road for a while. Leo called some roadside service they have down there becuase it would have been impossible to change the tire with cars flying past us at 80 mph. While we were sitting there waiting for the tow truck we all the sudden noticed that the cars magically just stopped coming. At first we were very confused, then we saw a police car with his lights on swerving accross the lanes to stop traffic. I'm sure the thousands of cars that were at a complete stop for a few minutes were not too happy but we felt pretty special. We were then able to get across the freeway to the right side where the tow truck could get us. It was a pretty fun little adventure. We all made it out alive but needless to say, we did not make it to Santa Monica.

Our Trip to Michigan

At the beginning of August we went to Michigan to have a reception in Nate's home town. It was so much fun and I loved being able to wear my dress again. While we were there we went camping with the fam and Nate's parents gave us a second honeymoon on Macinac Island. The island was so cute and we had a blast!!

All the houses were so cute and I am such a nerd that I couldn't stop taking picutres of them.

I also loved how everyone rode around on buggies. So stinkin cute!!
